What is USB?
Universal Serial Bus (USB) is an industry standard that establishes specifications for cables, connectors and protocols for connection, communication and power supply between computers, peripherals and other computers.
Examples of peripherals include computer keyboards and mice, video cameras, printers, portable media players, mobile (portable) digital telephones, disk drives, and network adapters.
A broad variety of USB hardware exists, including 14 different connector types, of which USB-C is the most recent and the only one not currently deprecated.
What is USB-A?

Type A is the "original" USB connector and is the most recognizable and commonly used connector.
You probably have a couple of them lying around at home.
You can recognise USB-A as the cable with that one wider end.
The USB-A connector is not rotationally symmetrical and both ends are different, corresponding to a different type of port.
What is USB-B?

USB Type-B connectors, officially called Standard-B connectors, are square in shape, with chamfered outer corners at the upper ends.
You’ll usually find USB Type-B ports on larger devices you connect to your computer, such as printers and scanners.
You might also have external storage devices or drives that use them.

USB Type-C, referred to as USB-C, is becoming the standard connector for moving data and power to and from a wide variety of computing devices.
Its symmetrical design means it can be inserted either way — up or down — eliminating many of the frustrations of earlier USB ports.
Besides being capable of supporting reverse insertion, Type-C ports can transmit data at a higher rate.
Type-C ports can also support relatively larger charging currents ranging from 3 A to 5 A, and support reverse charging.
